Erika Kimball, RN, MBA :: Founder, CEO and Principal Consultant
Founder and CEO Erika is a sustainability leader with more than 15 years experience developing solutions with healthcare clients. She began her sustainability journey as a staff nurse leading volunteer waste reduction projects in clinical units. A positive and determined change agent with expertise in sustainability strategy, change management, program development and implementation, Erika brings people together to create solutions that improve environmental outcomes while supporting hospital quality, safety, and value. Erika is a sustainable materials management specialist who knows that healthcare waste is a solvable problem. She has developed best practices for high-quality recycling and materials collection in clinical areas and continues to work with clients to create a circular economy, zero waste future for healthcare. Erika loves learning and adventure and holds an MBA from Presidio Graduate School.
Rachel Gibson, JD, MPP :: Principal Consultant
Rachel is a sustainability leader who puts people at the center of her work, both in her collaborative style and approach to addressing healthcare’s environmental impacts. She brings expertise in the areas of climate leadership, supply chain decarbonization, sustainable procurement, stakeholder engagement, coalition building, strategy development, policy analysis and advocacy, and campaign organizing. For over ten years, Rachel directed the Safer Chemicals Program for Health Care Without Harm, supporting health care institutions in their transition to safer products, developing environmental standards, and advancing a healthy materials economy through market, regulatory, and legislative campaigns. Prior to this work, Rachel directed environmental health campaigns for a California-based nonprofit and worked as an environmental litigation associate in private practice. She has presented extensively at conferences and on webinars and authored and co-authored a number of reports on the topic of chemicals and health. Rachel holds a master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University and a law degree from UC Berkeley.
Margie Suozzo, MSES, MPA :: Principal Consultant
Margie brings a breadth and depth of knowledge to the work of advancing sustainability in the healthcare sector, with particular expertise in strategies, policies and programs to improve energy efficiency, shift to renewable energy, and advance zero waste. Prior to her work at KSH, Margie worked as a consultant ICF Incorporated, providing support to EPA and DOE on national greenhouse gas reduction programs and policies. She co-led the buildings program at ACEEE, a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing energy efficiency, and also co-founded and led a local grassroots environmental organization. She has authored many reports on policies and programs to advance energy efficiency and has presented in national settings and at the local level, educating a range of stakeholders to take action to protect the planet and its people. Margie holds masters degrees in public administration and environmental science from the O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Her work style reflects the value she places on listening to seek understanding, particularly when faced with resistance to change.
Alejandra Munoz Mejia, CE :: Lead Consultant
Alejandra is a civil engineer with experience in sustainable development infrastructure projects. After working in disaster risk reduction projects in her home country Honduras, she pursued a Masters in Sustainability from Harvard University Extension School. She also holds a certificate in Green Building and Community Sustainability. She is certified as a LEED Green Associate and Envision SP. She grew up in a family of physicians and has a deep understanding of what healthcare settings require. Alejandra is committed to help visionary hospital systems with solutions that are environmentally restorative, human-health focused and economically feasible with the goal of making this world a better place for all.
Kate Leftin, XNMR :: Associate Consultant
Kate became interested in sustainability during her MSW program after learning about the health consequences of pollutants, especially in disadvantaged communities. After working in numerous healthcare settings, she became driven to help healthcare facilities go further to protect human health by mitigating their impact on the environment and adapting to climate change. She obtained her Executive Master of Natural Resources (XMNR) from Virginia Tech with a certificate in Global Sustainability. She previously worked in Inova Health System’s sustainability office, based in Northern Virginia.
Zayna Salveter, MHA :: Associate Consultant
Zayna began her sustainability journey rethinking how we outfit health administration students with tools to tackle a rapidly changing climate during her Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program at the University of Washington. Co-founding a national grass-roots student organization, Zayna continues to work closely with change agents such as accrediting bodies, MHA programs and sustainability industry leaders advocating and introducing new educational tools and models into MHA curriculum nationally. Zayna has since become an experienced healthcare change management and strategic leader having completed an Administrative Fellowship at Northwestern Medicine where she directly supported senior leaders on the health system's climate pledges and carbon reduction strategies.
Bethany Atkins :: Operations Manager
Bethany started her career in sales for a top Wall Street investment firm and has built a track record of improving the overall customer experience, closing deals, and effectively elevating the company profile within its key target markets. She is also an accomplished fitness franchisee with experience in client acquisition and retention, employee management, budget administration, team leadership, and financial reporting. At KSH, she is able to utilize her expertise in growing and maintaining businesses effectively while also making a positive impact in the healthcare industry.

Sharmila Singh, a seasoned sustainability professional and career coach, founded Green Lens Consulting on the principle that sound business strategy and making a positive impact in the world should go hand in hand.
KSH partners with Green Lens Consulting to support clinician research and fellowship programs with health system clients. Sharmila supported the launch of the program, and provides strategic direction, monitoring, and guidance to participants as they develop new sustainability solutions. Sharmila enjoys reading and traveling and holds an MBA from Presidio Graduate School.
